JOB DESCRIPTION FOR BUILDING MAINTENANCE/GENERAL LABORER
Part Time- 20 Hours per week.
SUPERVISED BY: Township Supervisor/Township Board JOB SUMMARY: Perform building maintenance on the township building(s) and assist General Foreman.
MAIN DUTIES:
- Perform minor repairs to Township Building(s).
- Repair and maintenance of Township Parks and Playground Equipment.
- During summer months, grass is to be mowed, grounds picked up/ maintained and ensure that the appearance is attractive.
- During the winter months, the sidewalks, fire truck driveways and all exits will be kept free of snow and ice. Excess snow will be removed by the loader operator.
- Assist General Foreman, with water and sewer repairs, etc....
- Any other job duties as assigned by Supervisors).
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A. Physical Requirements:
- Good physical and mental health. Stands, walks, climbs, pushes, pulls and carries heavy materials and equipment. Crouches, kneels, stoops and reaches.
- Use of good body mechanics to prevent personal injury.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
B. Special Requirements
- Ability to work and cooperate well with other employees.
- Ability to work under close supervision as well as alone.
- Must be courteous and show respect for the public.
- Must have/maintain a valid Michigan Driver License.
C. Qualifications:
- High school education or it's equivalent. Ability to speak, read and write. Able to follow written and oral directions.
- Must know how to operate various machines and equipment and be familiar with the proper use of hand tools.
- Must possess good communication skills and be able to deal effectively with other people.
