General Definition of Work:
Performs support work transporting senior passengers and related tasks as assigned. Work is performed under moderate supervision.
Essential Functions:

Drive vehicles transporting elderly passengers from residences to various community facilities as scheduled; may drive for field trips and recreational activities.

Operate wheelchair lift mechanisms and assist passengers in and out of the vehicle and with personal effects such as coats, hats, mobility aids, etc. May assist passengers to the door at their destination.

Transport mail, equipment, and supplies between locations.

Maintain records of vehicle usage, perform routine vehicle maintenance and daily/weekly safety checks, clean vehicles for passenger safety and comfort, and oversee the general well-being of elderly clients utilizing the service.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or GED.

Experience: Up to one (1) year of experience driving a bus, van, or other commercial vehicle.
Special Requirements:

Possess a Chauffeur’s license with the State of Michigan upon hire.

Obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications within 6 months of hire.

Valid driver’s license in the State of Michigan.
