Education and Experience: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants with an associate’s degree, preferred. Minimum two years (4,000 hours) of relevant paid work experience in the automotive industry within the last five years is required. Evidence must be included with the application. Previous experience working with youth is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Upon employment, the employee must obtain and pay for an Annual Authorization Permit for substitute instructor duties. Must have valid Michigan driver's license with no more than 6 points. Michigan certifications in Brakes and Braking Systems and Front End Suspension and Steering Systems are required. Michigan Mechanic Master Certified Automobile and Light Truck certification is preferred. All Michigan certifications must be maintained.
