JOB SUMMARY
The Commercial Contract Analyst is responsible for the analysis, interpretation, administration and negotiation of operating and vendor agreements and is source of general contractual and business guidance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepares and disseminates information regarding contract status, compliance, modification, deviation, negotiation, termination; provides litigation and due diligence support.
Analyzes project studies and proposed new agreements and amendments and makes changes and/or recommendations to facilitate their execution; ensures contracts are approved and executed in accordance with guidelines.
Works with business units, customers, vendors and ITC management to resolve issues, secure approvals and ensure successful contract execution.
Drafts simple contractual instruments utilizing developed templates.
Prepares contract summaries/roadmaps; communicates contract policy, procedures and practices to internal business units.
Ensures contract documentation is complete and accessible in corporate contract repository, maintains corporate contract repository and conducts corporate contract repository training.
Researches, advises and interprets contract terms for internal and external parties.
Administers compliance obligations for Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Form 516. Analyzes, edits and coordinates the annual review of Distribution Transmission Interconnection Agreement and Generator Interconnection Agreement amendments and FERC filings.
Investigates and determines ownership of substation assets.
Obtains load forecasts and resource lists from customers.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, English or Pre-Law, or a paralegal certification, or relevant, equivalent experience and/or education.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with contracts, settlements, tariffs or billing. Experience with contract lifecycle management and/or document management software.
Working knowledge of contract laws and regulations.
Ability to analyze and interpret basic contract documentation.
Basic general and legal research skills.
Ability to draft routine contractual instruments.
Utility experience preferred.
Possess sound analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Must be able to multi-task and support concurrent requirements for different business units.
Ability to work with technical counterparts and broad business units for issue resolution and the evaluation and mitigation of risks.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors and individuals inside and outside the Company.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and general software proficiency.
