Job Title: Maintenance Technician (On-Call)
Location: Presque Isle Place, Marquette, MI
Presque Isle Place is seeking a reliable and motivated individual for the position of Apartment Maintenance Technician. This role involves performing general maintenance tasks for our apartment complex. The technician will be responsible for addressing routine and emergency maintenance issues, ensuring the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance tasks including, but not limited to:
- Painting and touch-ups
- Basic electrical repairs (outlets, switches, etc.)
- Basic plumbing repairs (leaky faucets, toilets, etc.)
- Drywall repair and patching
- Lightbulb and fixture replacements
- General upkeep and repairs as necessary
- Respond to maintenance requests and issues from residents in a timely manner
- Ensure that all work meets safety standards and complies with regulations
- Be on-call for emergency maintenance needs
- Complete maintenance logs and track repairs for record-keeping
Compensation:
- Probationary Period (90 days): Hourly rate of $18 per hour
- Post-Probationary Period: Opportunity to transition to a live-in maintenance role, with a prorated salary thereafter
Requirements:
- Previous experience in maintenance or a related field is preferred
- Ability to perform physical labor and lift heavy objects when necessary
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Availability to be on-call for emergencies
