Shipping & Receiving Clerk
A successful Shipping & Receiving Clerk will have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as organizational, time management, and mathematical skills.
The Shipping/Receiving Clerk will be responsible for:
Assisting in unloading deliveries from trucks
Pack and unpack incoming materials
Receiving and signing for deliveries
Inspect products for defects and damages
Routes received goods to appropriate storage area or department using forklifts, hand trucks, or other equipment
Filing customs paperwork & work closely with brokers
Negotiates and arranges transport of goods with shipping and freight companies
Maintaining shipping accounts, shipping logs and documents
Preparing domestic and international shipping documents
Coordinating LTL and small package shipments
Keeps records of all goods shipped, received, and stored
Shipping and receiving machines incl. organizing crating, packing and international paperwork.
Responsible for tracking & restocking shipping and receiving supplies
Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workspace
Close collaboration with different departments
Qualifications:
UPS / FedEx software experience preferred
International shipment experience preferred
Hi-Lo license preferred
ERP software experience preferred
Experienced in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills
Hands-on commitment to getting the job done.
The ability to quickly learn company products, packaging methods and terminology.
