Summary
The Bandsaw Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a bandsaw to cut a variety of materials to the desired length, shape, and size. The bandsaw operator must have a thorough understanding of the equipment and be able to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and sketches. The operator must also be able to adjust the saw and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality cuts. The bandsaw operator must be able to troubleshoot and repair any malfunctions in the sawing process. The operator must also be able to perform routine maintenance on the bandsaw and its related equipment. The bandsaw operator must have a good understanding of safety procedures and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
Set up and operate bandsaw machines to cut metal and other materials
Adjust cutting speed, feeds, and guides according to material thickness and type
Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions and make necessary adjustments
Verify accuracy of cuts
Maintain and lubricate machines regularly
Follow safety guidelines at all times
