Scheurer Health is seeking a confident individual with demonstrated leadership ability to assume the role of Surgical Services Manager.
Responsibilities
- All nursing service functions in the surgical services area, which encompasses pre-op, surgical suites and post anesthesia care unit; PACU areas
- Oversight of day-to-day operations, material management, leadership, and mentoring for personal and professional growth of staff.
- Responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, administering, documenting, and evaluating patient care of all ages in accordance with the unit specific policies, procedures, and physician treatment plan
- Acts as liaison between management and staff as well as between patients, physicians, staff, and family
- Complete and manage payroll, staff scheduling and annual performance reviews.
- Oversees all aspects of the surgical department including staff management, scheduling operations, ensuring quality patient care, maintaining compliance with regulations, and managing the budget, all while prioritizing patient safety and efficient surgical operations.
Requirements
- This candidate will be a BSN graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Possess a current license as a Registered Nurse in good standing from the State of Michigan
- Must have at least three (3) years of experience in surgical nursing and perioperative care, and at least two (2) years of leadership experience
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, quality improvement methodologies, and patient safety standards.
- Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
