GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent, a GC Equipment Operator is a non-exempt seasonal position responsible for maintenance of the golf course. Performs all work in accordance with essential functions and responsibilities as described below. NOTE: The Equipment Operator Team Leader position serves as the Lead to the Equipment Operator staff. Generally, this is an individual who has previous experience working at the Bay County Golf Course.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Maintains and cuts grass on tee boxes, fairways, roughs, fringes and greens.
2. Maintains bunkers.
3. Assists with sodding and trimming.
4. Uses equipment such as walking and riding greens mowers, tee mowers, fairway mowers, rough mowers, rollers, bunker rakes, carts, push mowers and a variety of powered and non-powered hand tools.
5. Observes all Club safety practices and protocols.
6. Participates in required trainings and meetings.
7. Punctual and consistent attendance is an essential function.
8. Performs other required tasks and duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have a valid Michigan Driver’s license with a good driving record. Must be able to pass a drug test and background check. Must work cooperatively with others in a team environment. High school degree or equivalent; or in pursuit. Previous golf course maintenance experience preferred.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS: (With or without reasonable accommodation) Work tasks are performed mainly outdoors and involve physical strength and endurance. Must be able to work in varying temperatures and inclement weather. Works with heavy equipment such as mowers, rollers, cutters and golf carts. Position requires walking and standing for long periods of time. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously. Requires standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing. Medium Work: Must be able to exert and lift 20-50 lbs. of force occasionally and 10-25 lbs of force frequently and up to 10 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis to move objects. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch frequently. Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
