University of Michigan Health-West (Formally Metro Health) is looking for Farm Market Coordinator.
Farm Market Coordinator - Community Outreach * Days (Thursdays, 7a-330p, May-October) - 8hrs/week
General Summary:
The Farm Market Assistant assists the Community Outreach & Wellness Education Coordinator with the daily activities of the Farm Market during the market season, as well as assists with sponsored community events. The coordinator assists with the annual planning and execution to ensure the successful operation of the market and community events.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Current CPR/First Aid and AED certification required.
- Strong organizational, coordination and follow through skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Knowledge and awareness of marketing operations.
- Knowledge of business, marketing, management.
- Knowledge of local community features.
- Ability to effectively communicate the Market’s rules and regulations and future plans.
- Ability to promote the features and benefits of participating in the Market
- Ability to effectively process feedback from the market stakeholders.
- Ability to solve problems quickly and effectively.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Prepare market site weekly by setting up the information booth and blocking off the street for vendor and customer safety.
- Assist with market promotion.
- Assist with vendor relations: recruiting/retaining farmers and vendors, space assignments, enforcement of market rules and regulations, conflict resolution, training for market programs such as SNAP and Project Fresh.
- Assist with records including token counts, vendor, and customer attendance.
- Work with the Community Outreach & Wellness Education Coordinator to recruit and manage volunteers for sponsored community events.
- Collaborates with Marketing on event media, providing key event details, pictures and other visuals for social media as needed.
- Assists with the coordination of event set up including venue, tents, tables, promotional items, and marketing materials.
- All other related essential functions and responsibilities required by the organization.
This position will primarily work on Farm Market on Thursdays, May 8 - October 9, 2025. 7am - 3:30pm.
