The Scrap Coordinator will direct, organize, oversee and participate in all areas of operations in the Scrap Recycling. This position will incorporate all company production and environmental policies, and procedures to streamline daily activities for all levels of employees. This vital position will assume overall accountabilities for all aspects of production including efficiency, customer relations, and profitability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include the following:
- Maintain company safety and environmental objectives, standards and compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and R2:2013
- Establish a customer focused and responsive environment
- Grading Ferrous and Nonferrous Metals
- Maintain and have a high-level understanding of all equipment.
- Tracking and understanding all inbound and outbound shipments and how they reflect daily plans
- Ensure that all operations are efficiently and effectively maintained and exceeding production goals and objectives
- Clearly communicating day to day goals
- Adapting to a dynamic and frequently changing commodities market
- Empty scrap hopper through shift with Hi-Lo.
- Perform safety checks on Hi-Lo with daily log every day
- Set up 2nd shift with empty hoppers and end of shift notes
- Responsible for monitoring the receipt, processing and preparation of scrap metal in a given area of the yard as well as responsibility for managing special projects related to the yard.
- Responsible for oversite and direction of processing scrap metal appropriately to the best net economic value to the company.
- Investigate all accidents within area of responsibility and report to management and serve on the safety committee.
