Job Description:
Dematic Corp has a need in our corporate office located in Grand Rapids, MI for a Product Engineer in our Research and Development group. Position requirements include:
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or strong equivalent experience.
* Experience in the material handling industry is a plus.
* Experience with Unigraphics NX is highly preferred.
* Excellent analytical skills.
* Applications system experience preferred.
* Strong mechatronics abilities; a combined degree and experience in Mechanical/Electrical is highly preferred.
Job Family Responsibilities:
Completes complex planning of detailed product development objectives. Completes the preparation of complex sketches, design layouts, and other specifications. Performs complex review of results to determine that products perform in the intended manner. Completes complex prototypes for testing and provides technical assistance on design feasibility. Completes standardization of complex materials, components and assemblies. Completes and maintains detailed and comprehensive records of all inventive ideas, designs, and basic improvements. Completes product issues documentation for future reference and problem resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
Performs full range of standard work for the professional field. Refers complex, unusual problems to others. Identifies and resolves more complex problems and applies problem-solving skills in order to deal with most situations.
Key Working Relationships:
Primarily intra-organizational contacts and external contacts.
