Position Summary: The Hotel Desk Staff role serves as the first point of contact with guests of Interlochen during the hotel reservation process, guest check-in experience, and also acts as the switchboard operator. This is a temporary position beginning March 3, 2025 and ending on June 2, 2025. This position works from 1 pm - 9 pm Wednesday through Saturday.
It may be possible to work during the summer as part of our Summer Front Desk Staff at the conclusion of the temporary period.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process guest check-in/check-out
- Answer the telephone at the hotel front desk.
- Process in-person, phone and online reservations
- Answering questions related to all things Interlochen and surrounding areas
- Provide baggage assistance
- Answering and properly forwarding calls as they are placed to the Interlochen switchboard
- Basic auditing of hotel sales data
- Handle cash and credit card transactions
- Seeks the best use of materials, equipment and staff to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Complies with ICA policies/procedures and acts as a good steward of ICA finances.
- Respects the culture, diversity and rights of all students, their families and the community.
- Prioritizes duties in a manner consistent with organizational objectives and growth.
- Display professional customer service skills.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Environment:
Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with extensive internal and external stakeholder contact.
