Job Summary
Oversees the development of processes and equipment including specifications and manufacturing methods/sequence, for company products and/or manufacturing and assembly equipment. Troubleshoots, repairs and modifies systems and components as appropriate.
Duties and Requirements of the Job
- Gathers data and input on the development of original designs or adaptations of existing designs after having been given general instructions regarding purpose and parameters.
- Plans and conducts engineering projects and manufacturing assignments that require expert application of engineering knowledge.
- Participates in the initial studies and cost estimates for proposed projects and suggests changes to facilitate manufacture and assembly.
- Prepares tooling lineup and standards or specifications and participates in the development of project budgets, schedules, and release dates.
- Operates standard equipment in test and process environments to conduct work requiring precision and strict observations.
- Follows prescribed work methods in accomplishment of assignments. Maintains proper and appropriate record and files.
- Inspects, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, modifies and suggest applications of standard or non-standard techniques.
- Suggests design changes, test modifications or recommends improvements in design, production methods or materials.
- Functions with general direction and little day-to-day supervision on complex programs involving various equipment and instruments.
- Assists other technicians with their tests set up and interpretation of instruction and technical engineering or design requirements.
- Performs such individual assignments as supervisors and superiors may direct; ensures adequate and continuous controls are exercised over all assigned activities affecting quality; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Company and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.

Educational Requirements
- Strong electromechanical skills as typically evidenced by experience and/or an Associate’s Degree in mechanical or electronic technology
- 3 to 5 years of blowmolding experience in a technical position required.
- Multilayered, parason transfer, Krupp Kautex blowmolding machine experience a plus
Physical Requirements
- Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds and frequently carries up to 30 pounds.
- Maneuvers in, around, under, and about factory and/or laboratory equipment on a regular and continuous basis.
- Some of work time is spent standing, walking, lifting, and bending.
- Works at telephone and PC.
- Works within components manufacturing, office, and laboratory setting and is exposed to heat, cold, wet, and fumes/chemicals.
- May be required to travel to plant, vendor, and/or customer sites.
