1. Possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major which meets the criteria for a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP), Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), or a Children’s Mental Health Professional (CMHP); these include: social worker, physical or occupational therapist, speech-language pathologist, audiologist, registered nurse, registered dietician, therapeutic recreation specialist, licensed professional counselor, or an educator with a degree in education from an accredited program.
OR
Be qualified as a grandfathered QIDP, QMHP, or CMHP (an individual with a bachelor degree in a human services field who performed the role of QIDP/QMHP/CMHP prior to January 1, 2008).
2. One year experience treating or working with individuals who have an intellectual disability, mental illness, substance use disorder, or serious emotional disturbance.
3. Possess a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a Michigan Driver License within 30 days of employment.
4. Must have reliable transportation that may be used to carry out job duties of this classification.
Preferred but not Required
1. Bilingual candidates highly desired.
2. Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued.
3. Individuals in recovery and individuals with experience in Armed Services valued.
