Superior Handyman Corporation is looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter to join our growing team in Marquette, MI. As a Lead Carpenter, you will be responsible for overseeing and performing carpentry work on a variety of residential and commercial projects from the ground up. You will work on projects of all phases, from framing and structural work to finishing a trim. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and motivated carpenter with a strong background in all aspects of carpentry, excellent leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage carpentry projects, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
• Perform all aspects of carpentry work, including framing, drywall, trim, window/door installation, and finish wor
• Supervise and mentor a team of carpenters and other tradespeople, ensuring tasks are completed on time and in accordance with project specification
• Coordinate with project managers, other trades, and subcontractors to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
• Ensure that all safety protocols are followed and that the worksite is safe and organized.
• Provide hands-on assistance in the field as needed, especially during critical phases of the project.
• Ensure accurate measurements and cuts, and make adjustments as necessary to meet specification
• Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure the work aligns with the overall design and requirements.
• Maintain a clean, efficient, and organized job site, ensuring that tools and materials properly managed.
• Communicate effectively with clients and provide updates on project status when neede
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of carpentry experience, with a proven track record of completing projects from start to finish.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and best practices, including framing, trim work, drywall, and finish carpentry.
• Previous experience leading and managing a team of carpenters or other construction
workers.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and other project documents.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Compensation & Benefit:
• Competitive pay ranging from $25 - $35 per hour, based on experience and skill level.
