Role Summary
As a Quality Engineer at MacLean-Fogg, you'll play a key role in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the highest quality standards for products and processes within our manufacturing environment. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, identify opportunities to prevent defects, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the highest quality standards are met. Key Responsibilities
Establish & Maintain Quality Standards: Develop and implement quality standards for products, processes, and systems to ensure the highest quality is achieved.
Collaboration: Work closely with product design, product management, and production teams to identify and resolve quality risks early in the process.
Audits & Compliance: Conduct audits of production processes, raw materials, and suppliers to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards. Recommend corrective actions as needed.
Root Cause Analysis: Investigate product defects and quality failures, conducting thorough root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency and reduce defects.
Documentation & Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely completion of quality-related documentation, including Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), root cause analysis reports, and corrective actions.
Customer Interface: Serve as a direct point of contact for customer quality issues, working to resolve and communicate solutions promptly.
Qualifications
Required:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive quality engineering.
Certifications/Licenses: Quality Engineer certification or equivalent is preferred.
Preferred:
Direct responsibility for customer interface regarding all quality issues.
Familiarity with quality tools and methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, and SPC.
Competencies & Skills
Basic understanding of quality principles, inspection techniques, and industry standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and communicate quality issues and solutions.
High attention to detail, ensuring product specifications and quality standards are consistently met.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, cross-functional environment.
Strong commitment to learning and staying updated on the latest quality tools and techniques.
