AJD Forest Products LP in Grayling, MI is the original Lake State Industrial hardwood lumber sawmill. We produce high-grade, red oak, hard and soft maple, aspen, ash, and basswood. Since 1974 we have been the producers of the best quality industrial lumber in the Lake States.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
- Supplying the mill with logs from AJD Stumpage and Independent loggers.
- Buying timber from public (State) and private owned lands
- Administering timber sales, working with the DNR and private landowners.
- Scaling logs and pulpwood (cordscale).
- Taking log yard inventory at the end of every month ( last Friday of the month)
- Working with truckers to get wood hauled
- Negotiating and setting pay rates with producers and truckers
