Job Summary
Responsible for the design and construction and/or commissioning of intermediate to large-size capital renewable projects. May work on a larger project under the guidance of a more senior project manager. Uses formal project management methods to coordinate project team activities including defining the scope of work, scheduling, estimating and engineering. Manage costs and change control procedures and ensure project close-out and documentation processes are complete. Types of projects include solar, wind, and energy storage, with hands-on construction assignments in collaboration with multiple internal and external stakeholders. This is an individual contributor job.
Key Accountabilities
Develops renewable energy project scope and coordinates a team of specialists who provide project schedule, cost estimates and engineering specifications for capital projects.
Ensures the initiation and completion of engineering, design, installation, testing, commissioning into service and project closeout.
Supports daily management of on-site construction activities, working with the general contractor or multiple contractors and service providers.
Responsible for renewable project expenditures and the cost-effective procurement of labor, equipment, and materials: coordinates with authorized company representatives in conducting bid meetings and reviews, supplier selections and evaluations; determines contracting strategy congruent with labor utilization strategies.
Communicates renewable project status to all stakeholders. Engages appropriate stakeholders in decisions and ensures a clear understanding of direction and expectations.
Responsible for meeting key performance metrics associated with project scope, schedule and budget.
Manage and control project risks and escalate issues when necessary.
Ensures compliance with safety, environmental and other regulatory requirements.
Interfaces with internal organizations, , suppliers, general contractors, building trades labor organizations/unions etc. and support contract administration services or vendors.
Supports obtaining regulatory approval for the construction and operation of new renewable energy projects required.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
This is a multi-track base requirement job; education and experience requirements can be satisfied through one of the following three options:
Master's or bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, construction management, project management, or business/management and 4 years of project management experience.
Associate degree in engineering, engineering technology, architecture/technical design, project management, business/management, construction management, or construction technology and 6 years of project management experience.
High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years of project management experience.
Other Qualifications
Preferred:
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Experience supporting renewable energy projects such as wind, solar, and energy storage capital projects.
Utility or large-scale construction experience
Other Qualifications
Traveling is required up to 20% of the time.
Experienced with P6 Primavera
Analysis of metrics on project deadlines, budgets, and deliverables
Experience presenting strategic plans to all levels of leadership, including senior leaders.
Hands on experience in managing renewable energy projects or large-scale projects.
Proficiency in handling projects involving multi-disciplinary teams and many stakeholders
