The Liaison will work to identify patients proactively and close to real-time to identify pharmacy of choice and educate patients. The liaison will be expected to work onsite within the assigned clinic area(s) a minimum of 2 days per week.
Core functions:
- Perform pharmacy insurance benefits investigation work to identify pharmacy network restriction(s).
- Utilize reports for prescriptions filled at outside pharmacies to identify patients with pharmacy choice.
- Collaborate with clinic staff to connect patients to their pharmacy of choice. This naturally occurs at time of prescription renewal, prior authorization renewal, insurance change or clinic visit.
- Communicate with patients, clinic staff, and specialty pharmacy staff to ensure smooth transition to patient's selected pharmacy.
- Serve as resource for all specialty pharmacy-related inquiries from patients and clinic staff, assisting in coordination and connection to subject matter experts when needs arise.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a pharmacy or medical office setting with background in insurance benefits and knowledge of specialty pharmacy medications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; specifically written and verbal communication skills as well as demonstrated ability to build rapport with colleagues.
- Competency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proven ability to effectively work with multiple stakeholders in a high-paced, dynamic environment.
