We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Repair Center Manager- Laboratory Instruments to lead our state-of-the-art Center of Excellence in Ann Arbor, Michigan. As a key member of our team, you will oversee the efficient maintenance and calibration of our critical LE (Lab Essentials) and BioA (Bio-Analytic) instruments. Your focus will be on driving operational excellence, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This position will be responsible for managing a team of 12 employees.
What you will accomplish together with us:
Team Leadership: Lead and develop 12 high-performing team of technicians, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and resources to deliver exceptional service.
Operational Excellence: Oversee the daily operations of the repair center, including work order management, inventory control, and resource allocation.
Quality Assurance: Implement robust quality control measures to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement by leveraging Lean/DBS principles to identify and eliminate waste, streamline processes, and enhance efficiency.
Customer Focus: Build strong relationships with customers and prioritize their needs, ensuring timely and effective service delivery.
Financial Performance: Monitor and manage the repair center's budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and maximizing profitability.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and implementation of the repair center's strategic plan, aligning with the overall business objectives.
What will convince us:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related field, OR Military experience in Maintenace functions
Minimum of 5 years' experience successfully managing technical teams, repair operations, and/or manufacturing/production operations
Strong understanding of Lean/DBS principles and their application to manufacturing and service operations
In-depth knowledge of laboratory equipment, particularly Sartorius products (LE and BioA)
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams
Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., ERP systems, CMMS)
Experience with ISO 9001 and other quality management systems
