ThermoAnalytics, Inc. (TAI), a leading provider of thermal and infrared simulation software and services, seeks a highly motivated, technically driven student with an interest in information technology and cybersecurity to join their team as an IT Intern in the Hancock, Michigan area. The 2025 Intern position will be based on the successful candidate’s school schedule.
WHAT YOU WILL DO.
The IT Intern works directly with full-time members of IT staff to:
- Triage user support tickets and provide basic IT support to employees.
- Document and audit infrastructure and services.
- Create and update user documentation.
- Lead or assist with infrastructure and service projects.
- Assist with patching and maintenance of systems and networks.
- Assist with packaging and deployment of desktop applications.
- Assist in deployment of new servers.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
- Completed college/university sophomore level or above.
- Experience working in a team/collaborative environment.
- Strong Linux skiils; must be comfortable and knowledgeable with Linux systems.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as sh, Bash, and/or Perl.
- Demonstrated self-motivation, intellectual curiosity, written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of services, systems, configurations, and processes you are involved with.
- System or network administration coursework or experience.
- To conform to U.S. Government regulations, applicants must be a United States citizen or a lawful permanent resident of the United States. Final candidates may be required to undergo a thorough background check, credit check and/or drug screening.
QUALIFICATIONS THAT PUT YOU OVER THE TOP.
- Enrolled in a system or network administration degree program.
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience in a user support role.
- Proficiency in one or more scripting languages, such as Bash, Perl, or Python.
