The Role:
This position is responsible for coordinating, planning, and supervising the operations of athletic facilities and various events, including oversight of the Student Center and Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex. The role ensures seamless event execution, facility and affiliation regulatory compliance, as well as efficient resource utilization. Key responsibilities include managing daily operations, coordinating maintenance, and supervising staff. All duties are performed in alignment with the University's mission, vision, and values, with a strong emphasis on diversity, equity, inclusion, and exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
• Leads the management and oversight of the day-to-day operations of the student center and athletic facilities.
• Responsible for the organization of all aspects of game day event management for athletic events which includes coordination of services, resources, and staff associated with contests.
• Coordinates the maintenance of athletic facilities which includes coordination with external vendors and the University's facilities team.
• Coordinates the maintenance of technical systems used for game day operations and responsible for troubleshooting systems when needed, including, but not limited to, sounds systems and scoreboard systems.
• Oversees the scheduling of all athletic facilities for practices, both on- and off-site, games, and external events hosted by the University, including the development and management of year-round practice schedules.
• Responsible for the development and implementation of programming to generate revenue sources from utilization of the athletic facilities and student center. This includes but is not limited to external camps, external rentals, and special events.
• Responsible for coordinating all external camps hosted at the student center and athletic facilities, as well as managing facility logistics for internal camps. This includes leading the external camps committee and facilitating communication with all campus departments involved in supporting camp operations.
• Responsible for and/or assists with the hiring, training, development, evaluation, and management of all workers employed at the student center and athletic facilities including student workers.
• Leads the development and adjustment of facility hours of operation and ensures adequate staffing levels for the student center and athletic facilities to support seamless operations.
• Contribute to the development of best practices and operational improvements within the athletic department.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance needs promptly.
• Work in conjunction with University facilities to coordinate proper maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Develop and manage the annual operating and capital budgets and revenue for the facility including but not limited to staffing, equipment, and supplies.
• Assists the Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics with athletic issues as needed.
• Understand and abide by all external and internal regulations and policies. This includes NCAA, GLIAC and national affiliations associated within athletics or other role specific regulations.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree in recreation, sports management, or physical education preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in the administration and management of campus recreation, athletic training, and operation of fitness facility.
• Knowledge of all proper safety procedures and regulations as related to this position.
• Technical knowledge of operating and troubleshooting sound systems, scoreboards, and other technology used for game day operations.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated ability to work accurately and effectively with computerized data systems including internet, Microsoft office suite, and Publisher.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive working environment, spirit of cooperation, and positive reactions to change and conflict resolution.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and relate well to students, parents, faculty, staff, and others while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both written and oral which transcend diverse audiences.
• Ability to perform under stressful situations. Must be able to travel (including overnight stays)
