Job Description:
Research and develop engineering design data and provide engineering support for repair and overhaul problems. Develop newer innovative techniques to enhance traditional methods to return simple and complex aircraft structural deficiencies to specification. Perform all facets of composite overhaul and repair in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Priority will be placed on specific PCS directed R&D projects, however when the R&D work flow is interrupted (waiting on parts, services, setup, work instructions, etc.) The technician responsibilities include OEM production support.
- Proficient in Phosphoric Acid Anodization (PAA) material processing
- Proficient in fabrication (sheet metal) techniques and processes
- Able to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Proficient in basic computer skills; able to research repair data on company intra-net technical publications site
- Proficient in reading analyzing, and interpreting technical procedures and prints
- Understand inspection techniques and proficient with measurement tools and devices, data collection and analysis methods
- Accurately complete work forms, data sheets, and prepare reports
- Understand and follow all company and departmental safety policies and procedural guidance
Some applicable job skills:
- Operating powered shop equipment
- Use of pneumatic hand tools
- Reading precision measurement devices
- Performing composite lay ups
- Working in a clean room environment when required
- Qualified to wear a half-face respirator when required
