Purpose of the job
The purpose of the Densifier Operator is to process material scrap through the Densifier Machine. Work as a team of two to support Vision Operations by removing full scrap bins and bringing empty scrap bins to the Bin Staging Area.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Material Densifier: Operate the Material Densifier. Load blue scrap bins into the tote dumper and ensure scrap is properly traveling up the conveyor. Ensure the machine is continually processing scrap by dumping bins or other material scrap (sheeting, NASCAR plank, etc).
Densified Material: Wheel densified material carts to cooling area. Once cool, use a Forklift to dump the densified material into a shipping tote.
Full Bins: Grab full bins from the Bin Staging Area and bring them back to the Densifier to be processed.
Empty Bins: Bring empty bins from the Densifier Room out to the vision Bin Staging Area.
Baler: Load SDR material into Baler and process it safely. Inform Maintenance if wire or other necessary material is running low.
Housekeeping: Ensure cleanliness of the Densifier Room. Clean the room at the end of the shift and properly organize cleaning equipment.
Safety: Wears required PPE and ensures safety in all operations. Raises safety concerns to leadership and supports problem-solving when necessary.
Downtime: In the case of machine or process downtime, supports the Vision lines by breaking down scrap bins and wheeling full bins to the Bin Staging Area. May also bring empty bins to the Vision lines.
Participates as a member of the Production Team: Attends appropriate team meetings.?Supports continuous improvement. Works with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues that may arise.
