Job Duties:
- Maintain grounds of public or private property using equipment (hand, & power tools, vehicles and powered equipment), including but not limited to hand tools-shovels, rakes, pruning tools, spreaders, picks, sprayers/hoses, brush or hedge trimmers, axes, or saws; vehicles/powered equipment- tractors, mowers, vehicles, saws, equipment that moves dirt, weed whips.
- Perform tasks including but not limited to:
- Shoveling, raking, pruning, spreading materials, spraying, trimming, and sawing.
- Operating tractors, mowers, and dirt-moving equipment.
- Laying sod, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, digging, raking, installing sprinklers, and installing mortarless segmental concrete masonry units.
- Repairing and maintaining equipment, grounds, and buildings.
Job Requirements:
- No education required.
- Ability to tolerate extreme temperatures, loud noises, and lift heavy equipment.
- Must be sober while operating equipment.
- Must be capable of extensive pushing, pulling, walking, and stooping.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- On-the-job training will be provided.
Work Schedule:
- Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break.
- Additional Work: Saturday work may be required depending on need and weather conditions.
Wages & Benefits:
- Hourly Wage: $18.99/hour (overtime: $28.49/hour after 40 hours/week).
- Pay Frequency: Bi-weekly on Mondays.
- Deductions: Employer makes all payroll deductions required by law. Employer does not envision other workforce-wide payroll deductions. Voluntary deductions must be pre-authorized in writing and may include the following: Voluntary advances and/or loans made to workers, if any, may be repaid by pre-authorized payroll deductions. Employer deducts reasonable fair market value cost of rent/utilities based on number of occupants for workers electing to reside in employer-arranged housing (cost TBD). Uniform provided at no cost. Employer may deduct cost for lost/damaged uniforms resulting from worker negligence, or voluntary purchase of additional uniforms for worker's benefit.
Transportation & Travel:
- Worksites: Throughout Oakland and Livingston counties.
- Transportation Provided: Daily transport from the main office (2960 Harvest Dr., Howell, MI) to worksites and between worksite locations within an approximate 10-mile radius.
- Travel Reimbursement:
- If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Should the employee request a less economical form or transportation they may be required to pay the difference, or management may decide to pay the full cost. Daily meals will be provided at a rate of at least $ 15.88/day during travel to a maximum of $59.00/day with receipts.
Employment Terms:
- Three-Fourths Guarantee: Employer guarantees work for at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment term.
- Bonuses: Management may award discretionary raises and/or bonuses based on performance, skills, and tenure.
Note: Workers must be available for the entire employment period and agree to a verbal commitment. A post-hire random drug screening may be conducted at the employer's expense.
