Emergency Medical Services Leader

The EMS Leader implements and oversees ongoing Emergency Medical Service (EMS) programs for Scheurer Health, with the primary purpose of making available quality pre-hospital care for the designated geographical area. This role provides operational, clinical and administrative management to the EMS Department.
Responsibilities
- Day to day operations of the EMS department providing leadership to Scheurer’s EMS staff
- Completing and managing payroll, staff scheduling and annual performance reviews
- Organizing ongoing staff education and working clinically
- Business planning, budget development and following EMS professional standards all while maintaining compliance in both state and federal regulatory requirements
- Mentor staff for both personal and professional growth
- Must be able to foster excellent community relationships with our local EMS community
Requirements
- Paramedic Licensure with the State of Michigan with demonstrated effective leadership experience
- Formal Training and/or education in a specialty or related specialty beyond the high school level
- Current BLS from the American Heart Association
- Four years of experience in the field, two years of progressive supervisory experience
- Strong customer service and relationship building skills
- Knoledge of State and National EMS statues required
- All licenses and certifications must remain active
- Flexibility in work schedule, unusual hours, shift work, nights, holidays, and weekends
