Position: Lab Assistant
Location: Hancock, MI
Western Upper Peninsula Health Department is looking for a full-time (37.5 hours/week) Lab Assistant in their Hancock office.
Responsibilities include:
Onsite collection of patient samples for testing in the laboratory (phlebotomy and witnessed urine collections); processing associated paperwork and other documents in laboratory computer systems, responding to inquiries from external customers, receiving and processing samples and requisitions from external submitters, performing clerical functions to maintain required records, files, and reports pertinent to the functions of a lab. Performs inventory, orders, and receives supplies, rotates stock. Other duties as needed.
Hours are 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday – Friday. Occasional weekend shifts may be required.
Qualifications:
Graduate of a Phlebotomy Technician program/Certification in Phlebotomy by AMT or NCCT or graduate of a Medical Assistant CAAHEP or ABHES approved program.
