Position: Medical Laboratory Scientist/Laboratory Technologist
Status: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Non-exempt, Non-bargaining
Occasional weekend shifts may be required

Western UP Regional Public Health Laboratory is seeking ASCP or AMT certified Laboratory Technologists to join our team. We’re a low- to moderate- volume laboratory, providing high complexity testing to accurately identify pathogens of clinical and public health significance and increase the speed at which health professionals can respond to and investigate disease outbreaks. With an expanding test menu, team members have the opportunity to learn new methods, participate in training events at the state laboratory, and play a role in regional disease surveillance.
The Western UP Regional Public Health Laboratory, one of 6 regional public health labs in Michigan, began operations in September 2021 to increase public health laboratory testing capacity. Regular hours of operation are 8:00am – 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field. ASCP or AMT board certification preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a moderate- or high-complexity lab preferred.
