Molding Process Engineer
Disher Design & Development is a full-service product development and engineering services firm in West Michigan. Our engineering team is highly technical and diversified, serving in a variety of markets including automotive, office furniture, alternative energy, and medical. Our capabilities span from napkin through launch, providing numerous opportunities for us to partner with clients in product and process development, as well as in talent identification and attraction.
We are currently partnering with the Grand Rapids branch of a global manufacturer in their search for an experienced Molding Process Engineer. This position is full-time, direct-hire, and not with Disher Design & Development.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains the process standards in which all molded parts are manufactured.
- Verifies and applies narrow ranges for optimum process.
- Reviews production and operating records and resolves technical processing issues.
- Interfaces automation with molding process
- Manages sourcing of new materials and processes in order to achieve the best quality, process, and reliability.
- Builds tools for molding machines
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering Technology, or similar, required
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the engineering field
- Experience with Insert Injection Molding and/or 2-shot injection molding, required
- experience working with automated equipment
- Tooling and fixture design experience required.
- Must have experience with valve gate and hot runner manifolds
- Desire to be hands-on.
- Additional experience in metal stamping is a plus, but not required
