Position Summary
Under supervision of the Marketing & Communications Manager, the Marketing Specialist is responsible for supporting marketing and communication efforts throughout the City. The Marketing Specialist is a subject matter expert on marketing and content creation and must research, develop, and apply strategic support to various City departments. Attention to detail and strong communication skills are of the utmost importance in this role, as scope of work requires execution of marketing campaigns with various deadlines through multiple channels and dissemination of both accurate and timely City-related information. In addition to supporting the City’s branding, communication, and marketing goals, the Marketing Specialist also provides support for special events and campaigns, including sponsorship activation and fulfillment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Advertising, Communications, or related field from an accredited college or university
- A minimum of two years of professional-level experience in marketing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management experience with proven ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Basic graphic design skills in Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva
