CAD TECHNICIAN I (TRANSPORTATION)
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is for a full-time Technician I within the Transportation department in Spicer Group’s Saginaw or Standish office.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Transportation Technician will be responsible for assisting in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of transportation infrastructure such as roads, bridges, highways, and public transportation systems. They work closely with engineers and other professionals to ensure that transportation projects are completed efficiently and safely.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Entry-level position and works under close and frequent supervision, provides non-technical, routine, and basic support for assigned projects using a computer as an aid to drafting
- Completes detailed drawings from sketches, plans, specifications with written and verbal instructions using computer-aided drafting programs according to company standards
- Revises or changes drawings, traces and/or copies existing drawings, and completes simple calculations with specific instructions
- Maintains neat and orderly work area, which will allow access to project information to other team members
- Special projects as directed by project manager, department head, or principals
- Support work for engineers and designers
- Performs drawing reproduction and/or filing duties

- Minimum of high school or technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting or equivalent experience
