This position may require working a split shift. Requires nights and weekends. Maximum of 25 hours/week.
This position requires a High School Diploma or GED and one (1) year of experience in driving a van or bus with knowledge of minor vehicle repairs is strongly preferred. This individual must possess good driving skills, as well as good communication skills (both written and verbal) and is required to be computer literate. In addition, the Driver should be very familiar with the geographic layout of the Downriver area with regards to streets, expressways, etc. A valid Michigan driver’s license is required in addition to maintaining the necessary CDL licensure, Class B with passenger endorsement. It is a requirement that a CDL is obtained within 90 days of hire. This individual is required to comply with the Department of Transportation regulations for CDL drivers, which include random drug testing, according to the Alcohol and Substance Abuse Policy for DCC’s CDL drivers to comply with the Federally-mandated program, by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
