Business Development Manager
Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan
About Our Client:
Our company is a dynamic employee-owned company based in the greater Grand Rapids, Michigan area. We provide expert global sourcing, logistics and varied manufacturing capabilities for our clients. We offer our clients a wide menu of capabilities from sourcing parts to full, back-office fulfillment implementation. We serve several markets including contract furniture, medical components, heavy duty truck, residential furniture, and architectural products in addition to others.
Key Responsibilities:
• Driving new business growth by prospecting, cold calling, and closing deals with OEM and Tier-One clients.
• Developing and executing strategies to expand our geographical footprint, with 50%+ travel required.
• Building and nurturing relationships with sizeable OEMs.
• Utilizing strong networking skills to identify and securing new opportunities.
• Effectively managing the sales cycle from lead generation to close.
Qualifications:
• Technical or business-related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of proven business development or sales experience.
• Strong prospecting, communication, follow-up, and closing skills.
• Exceptional networking ability and confidence in cold calling.
• Self-motivated and results-oriented.
• Experience selling component parts to OEM/Tier-One clients is a significant plus.
• Background selling to sizeable OEMs is preferred.
