Position: Float Member Service Representative I
Employment Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Float Branch Leader
Position Overview
The primary purpose of this position is to assist Members First Credit Union to deliver on its mission: To encourage a better tomorrow. Essential Duties
- Be trustworthy, caring, and enthusiastic in receiving and processing member transactions including cash and checks, deposits, transfers, and loan payments.
- Assist members with account maintenance and changes.
- Collaborate with branch staff to cross-sell and increase member share of wallet.
- Ensure security and compliance procedures are followed in all transactions.
- Work at various credit union branches, adapting to specific branch needs and dynamics.
- Maintain accurate transaction records and ensure follow-through on member requests.
- Adapt communication and be open to feedback from direct and indirect leadership.
- Work in branch/office role with availability 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., involving daily travel to branch/support locations, Saturday business hours as scheduled, and some outside hours for meetings or training.
Duties and Responsibilities
The following statements describe the general nature and level of work performed in this position. Additional duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
- Create opportunities for expanded member relationships by identifying needs for additional products and services.
- Remind delinquent members of due payments.
- Maintain Sales and Service Performance Expectations.
- Process member transactions including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and loan payments.
- Handle inquiries on member accounts, statements, and transaction histories.
- Process check orders and sell Visa Gift and Travel Cards and cashier’s checks/money orders.
- Collect fees as required for services.
- Answer phones, handle inquiries, and process mail as needed.
- Assist other departments with clerical tasks as required.
- Participate in monthly developmental coaching.
General Sales Expectations
- Build relationships with current and new members by offering products and services that enhance their financial well-being.
- Actively participate in Credit Union initiatives and promotions, achieving assigned financial service goals.
- Support the onboarding process to build relationships with new members.
- Ensure members are fully served.
Other Responsibilities
- Attend educational functions and participate in Community Difference Projects (CDPs).
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to move or transport up to 25 pounds.
- Able to remain stationary for 2-4 hours at a time.
Work Environment
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
- Routinely clean and disinfect work areas, including teller stations, desk surfaces, phones, and electronic equipment.
- Protect confidentiality by securing sensitive materials when away from the workstation.
Education and Experience
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience operating a personal computer.
- Strong communication skills with members and staff.
- Good working knowledge of Credit Union products and services.
- Skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn Credit Union systems, products, services, and procedures.
- Attain the Financial Counselor Certification (CCUFC) through CUNA within the first 6 months.
