Strategic Sourcing Analyst, Sr.

Job Summary:
This is a transportation procurement position within the Procurement departmentfor truckload, intermodal, bulk and flatbed with some less than truckload, air freight, parcel and premium modes.
Manages procurement processes, operations, conducting and analyzing bids, strategy development, implementation and carrier networks. Analyzes changes or new issues to reduce costs and improve quality.
Essential Functions:
* Develop and oversee the Company's established procurement processes,including approval and processing of purchasing request, purchase requisitions and purchase orders; ensure solutions meet the requirements of business owners on a global level.
* Coordinate the activation and maintenance of preferred vendors within the Company's e-Procurement system(s).
* Work with team members to identify and develop activation plan for presenting our preferred vendors within the corporate e-Procurement platform. Tasks include, but are not limited to, catalog content management, workflow analysis and issue resolution.
* Ensure department records are maintained in accordance with established policies, procedures and audit guidelines.
* Ensure a collaborative and partnering approach with business unit or category owners, as well as potential and current vendors.
* Gain a clear understanding of the customer manufacturing/distribution network, operations, carrier base, modes, strategies and challenges.
* Assist in conducting carrier bids, analyzing rates, making decisions on awards while remaining compliant with the overall sourcing strategy.
* Utilize the RFQ and rate database.
* Create, manage, update and maintain rate schedules.
* Benchmark rates for new lanes for customer cost studies.
* On boarding new carriers to the customer network.
* Address and resolve carrier related issues.
* Participate or lead conference calls with various customer associates orcarriers.
* Compile and interpret on time performance metrics for meetings with customer and carriers.
* Analyze historical data and freight pay data to ascertain changes, anomalies or new opportunities within the network.
* Develop positive working relationships with customer and other Menlo associates on the customer account.
* Heavy interaction with various customer associates and carriers.
* Infrequent interaction with account management, Legal, InformationTechnology,
*Frequent interaction with Engineering and Freight Payment.
* Perform other related duties or projects as assigned.

Work Environment: The duties of this job are performed in both an office environment and a light industrial environment, thereby experiencing some minor to moderate level of noise due to office equipment and industrial equipment.
