The Lansing Board of Water & Light has openings for an Engineer I - V with our Electric Systems Integrity Department located in Lansing, MI.

Starting Salary Range: $66,927. - $140,425.
Position Summary:
Primary roles in the Electric Transmission and Distribution Engineering department include T&D Engineering Design, T&D System Planning, T&D Standards and Materials, and Transmission System Protection and Regulatory Compliance. Distribution design experience: Designing and calculating the sizing and placement of transformers, utility poles, conductors, guying, permits, easements, fusing, manholes, conduit, primary metering, switchgear, etc.…
Responsible for engineering activities related to planning, designing, constructing, operating, maintaining, and ensuring regulatory compliance of the electric transmission and distribution systems. Most projects will involve some or all the following activities: investigations, studies, estimating, economic evaluations, budgeting, scheduling, system protection, designing, drawing development and review, construction and commissioning support, training, and project management.
Essential Functions:
- Applies prescribed techniques and procedures in accordance with established criteria to perform assigned tasks; Performs standard computations or analysis.
- Performs technical work.
- Collects data and gathers information or documents.
- Prepares drawings and visual aids.
