SUMMARY:
The Production Manager will be responsible all production activities required to safely produce quality products with the most efficient use of labor and materials. This individual will also lead all improvement projects related to safety, quality, and productivity and proactively work to reduce customer complaints and product waste.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct the production process of finished goods with minimum waste and labor costs while ensuring the facility implements and maintains 5S programs in all production areas
- Plan production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for packaging products.Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data as such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order production and quality of products meets customer specifications
- Review production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
- Train, develop and evaluate all supervisors and employees to meet customer needs and future needs
- Responsible for compliance with all safety, health and environmental regulations as prescribed by state and federal laws
- Lead and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices and all other company policies
- Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization
- Schedule samples and trials to satisfy customer needs. Review daily production, labor, overweight, scrap, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field required
- 5 to 7 years of manufacturing experience required
- Lean manufacturing and/or continuous improvement experience required
- SAP experience required
- Experience with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points and SQF preferred
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detail oriented and able to maintain confidentiality
