About this Opportunity
Responsible for leading and delivering global customer-facing spaces within the Herman Miller Group portfolio of brands. This position works closely with Creative Directors, Customer Experience, Brand Design and other key contributors to lead the development and delivery of new locations, refreshment of existing locations and acts as the key interface for our business partners in relation to the design and construction of the built environment, ensuring that locations meet expectations experientially, on time and on budget.

Identifies, leverages and monitors vendor services to achieve efficiencies in cost, quality, and consistency.
Leads the development of key construction metrics to assess overall effectiveness and ROI of customer facing Places.
Leads the development of key methodologies and processes utilizing HMPS and other appropriate tools to ensure the efficient delivery of physical space.
Leads the project from strategic development through completion as it relates to architecture and construction.
Manages workflow throughout the organization by effectively influencing decisions and conversations both inside and outside of the group.
Monitors and coordinates accounting activities as appropriate and prepares reports for management. Participates in budget planning and management as required.
Negotiates terms, executes, and administers vendor construction contracts, in accordance with corporate goals, budget constraints and program expectations.
Partners with key internal business contributors to establish project budgets, project manage activities within budgets, and report results to the business.
Prepares accurate budgets/schedules and delivers accordingly.
Responsible for leading, guiding, and managing internal and external stakeholders to successful implementation, as well as planning for ongoing physical delivery.
Serves as a consultant to internal/external business partners, effectively leveraging opportunities outside the traditional scope of work.
Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

You might be just who we're looking for if you have . . .
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Construction Management or equivalent experience is required.
5-10 years of relevant experience required.
Ability to build relationships among internal and external partners who do not share the same office and don't have typical in-person meetings.
Enthusiasm to be part of a dynamic, growing strategy and to embrace the challenges of building best practices within the Herman Miller Group organization.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, at all levels of the organization and able to build long-term relationships with customer/partners (particularly at senior decision-making levels within an organization).
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication ability with strong emphasis on listening and proven ability to work through conflict.
Demonstrated high personal performance standards, the desire and ability to continuously learn and must be results-oriented (i.e., holding oneself accountable for results).
Demonstrated high level of integrity and business ethics.
Must be deadline-oriented and able to influence internal and external partners to meet key due dates using solid negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Must be financially literate and possess business acumen, proven ability to develop/manage project budgets.
Demonstrated ability to read/understand blueprints, CAD drawings, floor plans and installation drawings.
Ability to travel 30%-40% of the time and available to work flexible hours.
Ability to effectively use office automation/communication software/tools used in the HM office environment.
Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with varying accommodations.
