Disher Design & Development is a full-service product development and engineering services firm in West Michigan. Our engineering team is highly technical and diversified, serving in a variety of markets including automotive, office furniture, alternative energy, and medical. We are currently partnering with a growing advanced lithium-ion manufacturer in their search for a number of full-time / direct-hire Engineering roles to join their team in Holland, MI. Roles available include Controls Engineers, Production Engineers, Equipment Engineers, and more. These position positions are NOT with Disher Design & Development.
We are looking for individuals with experience in the following:
- Create, monitor, and modify logic for program design, simulation and testing start-up, and troubleshooting.
- Integrate and implement various systems such as: Bar Code & RFID Reading, Robot, Ultrasonic Welding, Vision, Weigh Scale, Gas Sampling, etc.
- This position will be responsible for work that includes investigating and troubleshooting equipment/manufacturing/facility problems, analyzing production results, implementing and improving manufacturing methods and processes, and ensuring high yield and productivity in a highly automated manufacturing environment.
- His/her functions will also include interaction with internal customers and external vendors to solve urgent and complex problems by identifying and evaluating alternatives to provide support of all in-plant production as required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Engineering required: Mechanical or Electrical; BSME or BSEE.
- 0 – 5 years of experience in complex mechanical assembly, tooling, and manufacturing assembly equipment, including PLC in a manufacturing and/or automotive engineering environment.
- Experience preferred in planning and executing large production lines, PFMEAs, and process control expertise.
- Time Studies, Line Balancing, Lean Manufacturing, Bottleneck Analysis.
- Knowledge of Omron is not required, but is a strong plus.
- Experience with robotic manufacturing equipment is a plus.
- Knowledge of Battery systems or processes is a strong plus.
- Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and presentation.
- Critical thinking and an analytical mindset.
- Able to work flexible hours occasionally to support entire production team.
- Must have current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship.
