General Responsibilities:
- Assist with packing and delivery of food to customers at established distribution sites and maintain an accurate inventory of product.
- Protect the privacy of customers and families and hold in confidence all information obtained in the course of service.
- Receive, unload, inventory, and store all USDA food shipments.
- Drive box trucks to distribution sites across 12-county region.
- Provide quality professional customer service at all times.
Specific Duties:
- Safely operate a fork lift and pallet jack within warehouse environment including loading and unloading trucks of product.
- Open product and set up packing line for USDA food boxes.
- Oversee volunteers who assist with distribution and packing lines.
- Assist with inventory count and reconciliation using First In, First Out (FIFO) standards.
- Receive and process Clare County Food Pantry donations.
- Restock Clare County Food Pantry with donations.
- Deliver USDA food to partner food pantries. Complete or collect all required program documentation with accuracy.
- Maintain and clean vehicles daily, including refuel and fluid checks.
- Complete equipment safety checks and reports.
- Clean warehouse and storage areas.
- Load food boxes into vehicles for customers during distribution.
- Participate in personal and professional development activities, including staff meetings, and training opportunities as identified and approved by supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Qualifications:
- Must possess a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to drive a 25ft box truck with.
Additional Requirements:
- Must obtain Chauffers’ License within 30 day of hire.
- Forklift certification or ability to pass certification within the first 30 days.
- Annual Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam.
- Must complete annual USDA Civil Rights training.
- Must have proficient computer skills (Outlook, & Internet).
- Successful clearance of DHHS Central Registry and criminal history record check.
- Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, valid vehicle insurance, and pass a motor vehicle check.
- Must comply with Agency smoke free and drug free policies.
- Understand the importance of daily work attendance.
Physical Demands:
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- The employee is required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to handle and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is needs to be able to frequently climb, balance and crouch.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
