Computer Vision for Animal Monitoring
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher to join our interdisciplinary team that is monitoring animal interactions and welfare. The candidate will lead the development of a multi-camera, computer vision system to detect, identify, track and analyze activities of piglet litters. It is expected that the project will generate new datasets that advance both the science of animal behavior and welfare as well as computer vision and artificial intelligence.
The candidate should have experience in computer vision and artificial intelligence, with skills in data analytics and a desire to advance precision livestock farming. Furthermore, the candidate should have a strong publication history and must have excellent communication skills.
The candidate is expected to publish research results in high impact journals and present at conferences. Professional development opportunities will include guest lecturing, mentoring students, writing proposals and interfacing with producers.
Position to start as soon as possible. This position will be renewed annually based on satisfactory performance and funding.
