Summary of Position: | The College of Engineering Technology is seeking adjunct instructors to teach Heavy Equipment courses. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. This posting is being used for face to face and/or online instruction. However, the candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date of this position is August of 2023 at the earliest and January of 2024 at the latest. | |

Required Education: | Qualification by Credential: Master's Degree in Heavy Equipment or Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline OR a Master's degree and 18 graduate hours in Heavy Equipment or Automotive Engineering or related discipline. Qualification by Tested Experience: Bachelor's degree in Heavy Equipment Service Engineering Technology or Equivalent degree. Minimum of three years full-time experience in the Heavy Equipment Service field or teaching in a Heavy Equipment related setting, within the previous five years. | |

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: | Conduct courses in the Heavy Equipment Technology program. Delivery of instruction in a Lecture/Lab format. Curriculum enhancement, as needed, to meet NATEF standards. Development and presentation of educational experiences, utilizing varied methods and techniques to enable students, with a variety of learning styles, to attain the course outcomes. Development and implementation of accepted assessment practices. Assessment of student success toward outcome fulfillment. Maintenance of office hours as required. Off-campus or distance learning teaching may be required. Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members. Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which may include but are not limited to: keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (ex. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time). Faculty may be required to teach off-campus or in an on-line environment. Any other duties assigned within the position classification area. | |
