The Forklift Mechanic provides technical, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for complex manufacturing equipment including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control systems for a large multi-million site campus footprint.
This position requires interaction with the Account Leadership team, Client, Vendors, Operational, and Support staff and will be a fast paced environment consistent with handling multiple demands and priorities. The candidate must be able to process and develop information to meet client needs, as well as coordinate various account level facility activities and projects. The candidate must be able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, effectively manage through stressful situations, and consistently make effective, high quality decisions.
Finally, this role requires a strong level of expertise in critical thinking, emotional intelligence and specialized communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine, emergency and preventative maintenance of forklifts.
Interpret manufacturer's technical manuals to perform the necessary maintenance and repairs needed.
Troubleshoot forklift problems to include brake, electrical and hydraulic systems, detect imperfections, potential problems, safety issues and/or malfunctions.
Able to diagnose and repair mast and attachment components.
Good working knowledge of brake systems and tire/wheel changes.
Ability to work on LP, gas and diesel systems.
Replace broken or defective parts from stock parts and/or order replacement parts for major repairs.
Reassemble forklifts and make all necessary adjustments for effective and safe
Perform safety inspection of forklifts prior to being released back to the work floor.
Cleaning of equipment and other areas as required.
Ensure work area and methods used in carrying out job duties meet safety
Maintain an organized and neat work area.
Competent to complete legible service documents and logs for preventative
maintenance tasks.
Learn new technical information and techniques to stay current with changing trends.
Qualifications:
Two or more years of experience in a related field, including maintenance of various lift trucks such as Jungheinrich, Crown, Yale, Cat and Mitsubishi.
Solid foundation of mechanical aptitude and ability along with knowledge of industrial electricity would be preferred.
Must be detail oriented, organized, flexible, and willing to assume new projects.
Proven track record of excellent internal and external customer service
Confident, friendly and engaging.
Customer focused mentality with a passion for hospitality.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally in a clear and concise manner.
Strong team player with the ability to grasp new ideas and change direction quickly, in a fast-paced environment.
High degree of innovation and independence and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Ensure consistent business support is compliant with service level agreement and ensure achievement of Key Performance Indicators.
Safety:
Identify risks to client facilities and eliminate downtime.
Implementation and management of the computerized maintenance management systems in accordance with JLL and client expectations.
Responsible for the adherence and compliance with all JLL work practices.
Administer compliance with and reporting of applicable environmental health and safety program.
