MEMBER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE
Position: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Branch Leader
Position Overview
The primary purpose of this position is to assist Members First Credit Union in delivering on its mission: To encourage a better tomorrow. Essential Duties

- MFCU is seeking a Trustworthy, Caring, and Enthusiastic Member Service Representative who will process member transactions, including but not limited to cash and check deposits, transfers, and loan payments.
- Assist members with account maintenance and changes, while collaborating with branch staff to cross-sell and increase member share of wallet.
- Ensure security and compliance procedures are followed in all transactions.
- This role is branch/office-based. Working hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with Saturday business hours as scheduled and occasional meetings/trainings outside of regular hours.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Create opportunities for expanded member relationships by assessing member needs for additional products and services.
- Maintain sales and service performance expectations.
- Process member transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and check cashing.
- Handle member inquiries, including account information and histories.
- Cross-sell products like Visa Gift and Travel Cards, and cashier's checks.
- Answer phones and process mail as needed.
- Engage in monthly developmental coaching.
General Sales Expectations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing members.
- Actively participate in Credit Union initiatives and promotions, achieving assigned financial service goals.
- Assist in the onboarding process to enhance member relationships.
Other Responsibilities
- Attend educational functions and Community Difference Projects (CDP).
- Other duties may be assigned based on business needs.
Qualifications and Expectations

- Strong team-oriented attitude, organizational skills, and the ability to produce accurate work.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with members and staff.
- Good working knowledge of all credit union products and services.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must be able to learn Credit Union systems, products, services, and procedures.
- The ability to attain the Financial Counselor Certification (CCUFC) through CUNA within the first 6 months.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move or transport items up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
Work Environment
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
- Routinely clean and disinfect teller stations and other surfaces.
- Ensure the confidentiality of Credit Union staff and members is protected.
Education and Experience
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Experience with personal computers and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- A good working knowledge of all Credit Union products and services.
- The ability to attain the Financial Counselor Certification (CCUFC) through CUNA within the first 6 months.
