Summary:
The Senior Manager Plant Operations manages the daily production within a large sized and/or complex plant to ensure a smooth production flow. Plans, organizes, and directs the manufacturing operation of the plant to ensure the most effective return on assets and obtainment of production schedules and overall business objectives.
Supervisory Capacity: Direct Reports: 6-10
Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing operation to ensure the obtainment of production schedules in a safe and efficient manner.
Monitor daily established KPIs to ensure customer requirements are met.
Provide root cause analysis of production and quality issues and make appropriate decisions based on risk analysis.
Develop and implement action plans to meet or exceed KPIs when they are not met. Lead YFIMS and YF iOS plant floor initiatives to ensure Operations compliance.
Communicate regularly with direct reports and management and supervise their performance in all functions including performance evaluation.
Additional Responsibilities:
Oversee staff levels within each department by shift and ensure not to exceed authorized levels. Monitor and control planned and unexpected overtime.
Assure that all plant guidelines and procedures are adhered to.
Provide Plant Manager a daily production update and weekly summary.
Provide Plant manager monthly production information for monthly MOR.
Position will typically have department managers reporting into; CI, Maintenance, Tooling, Launch, Engineering, Supply Chain and Production Managers.
Required Education Level: Bachelor's Level Degree Area of Study: Engineering Business Administration, Finance or similar. *Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions.
Required Qualifications (Experience Level, Skills, Knowledge):
7-10 minimum years of experience with production.
5-9 minimum years of experience within the automotive industry
Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
Computer literacy.
Proficient organizational skills.
Excellent oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Experience Level, Skills, Knowledge):
Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.
Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.
Just in Time (JIT) environment experience.

Work Environment:
Personal protective equipment is required. Works closely with others, perhaps within a foot of another person. May frequent manufacturing plants and must follow all rules while visiting locations. Are sometimes exposed to contaminants.
