If this sounds appealing to you, then consider our Bridge Engineer opportunity. The position is based in our Toledo, OH and Brighton, MI locations.
Our engineers take care of each step of a project, from the initial idea to the final design, working with a variety of materials from the simplest culvert or underpass to the most complex interchange. In the built and natural environment, we specialize in roadway , railway , and pedestrian bridges. We also incorporate the following areas into the process: hydrology and hydrogeology characterization and investigation, geotechnical surveys and data collection, advisory and business case services, preliminary studies, conceptual and architectural feasibility and engineering, construction issue design and plans, BIM and 3D bridge modeling, integrated with analysis, green infrastructure design, lifecycle planning, wildlife facilities design, and capacity and load rating.
Your Role:
Design bridges and culverts
Plan production including 3D Modeling and CADD
Load rating analysis of bridges
Utilize structural design software
Prepare structural evaluation studies, structure-type studies, and similar reports
Computation of estimated quantities, plan notes, and development cost estimates
Site visits to support the design process
Supervise the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with state and local officials and other outside agencies and sub-consultants
Participate in business development efforts and meet with clients
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) License, required
10 years of engineering experience, which must include bridge design and plan production
Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
Familiarity with MDOT bridge design standards
Experience with computer software such as OpenRoads, AutoCAD, OpenBridge Designer, AASHTOWare BrR
Experience as Bridge Inspection Team Leader is a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills
This position could require periodic travel, approximately 15% or more
