UBT is looking for a full-time Sr. Construction Operations Field Manager, Federal Military to join our dynamic team!
Job Summary: The Sr. Construction Operations Field Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of commercial construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of construction processes, and the ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously. The Field Manager will act as the primary point of contact between the field and the home office, ensuring smooth communication and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee and manage multiple commercial construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and lead on-site construction teams, including site superintendents, site safety officers, quality control managers, subcontractors, and laborers, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations.
- Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and completion of tasks.
- Quality Control: Monitor all aspects of construction to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and quality standards. Conduct regular site inspections and address any issues or deficiencies promptly.
- Safety Management: Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures, conducting regular safety meetings and ensuring all team members are trained and compliant with safety regulations.
- Budget Management: Assist in the preparation of project budgets, monitor expenses, and provide accurate and timely reports on project financials.
- Client Relations: Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients, addressing concerns, providing updates, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the construction process.
- Problem Solving: Identify potential issues and obstacles in the construction process, developing and implementing solutions to keep projects on track.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily reports, change orders, and progress photos.
- Coordination: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of design and construction phases.
- Resource Management: Manage and allocate resources effectively, ensuring that manpower, equipment, and materials are utilized efficiently.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, including progress, challenges, and any deviations from the plan.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is desired.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in commercial construction, a minimum of 5 years of DoD experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role is required.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project, AutoCAD).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, effective decisions under pressure.
- Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various job sites as needed.
Working Conditions:
- The role involves working on construction sites, which may include exposure to varying weather conditions, loud noises, and potential safety hazards.
- The Field Manager may need to work extended hours, including weekends, to meet project deadlines.
