JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Counter Sales Associate
Department: Counter Sales
General Summary:
Processes orders from walk-in customers by phone, fax & e-mail. Materials are purchased on account or by credit card, cash or check.
Key Responsibilities:
Enters customer order into Business system.
Completes order by filling, checking and processing order.
Maintains a balanced cash drawer.
Assists at will call when needed.
Provides customer with basic technical support.
Handles incoming returns from customer and forwards to return cart.
Daily re-stocks material that is not sold.
Assists in maintaining a neat & professional counter area including general housekeeping as needed.
Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions product weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted when stocking, loading or unloading products. Occasionally performs the same activities with product weighing up to 70 pounds. Typically bends, stoops and/or crouches on a regular basis from various heights to stock or deliver product to a customer. NOTE: if assigned to the construction product area, frequently lifts, caries or otherwise moves and positions product weighing 75 pounds unassisted when stocking, loading or unloading
Operates forklift: proper training and certification required. May also use material handling equipment (including pallet jack, dollies, handcart & conveyor).
Creates, implements and revises work procedures and instructions.
Supports the implementation and processes of TWL (if applicable) and the quality program.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
High school diploma required.
Two or more years of work experience in warehouse operations required.
Two or more years working knowledge of internal operations and products authorized by to be distributed through McNaughton-McKay.
Excellent communications skills with the ability to interact with customers in a professional manner.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, organizing, prioritizing and completing of tasks.
Basic computer skills required.

Reports To: Counter Store Supervisor

Normal warehouse and/or store environment
