Are you an assembly technician looking for a dynamic company to join? Due to our steady growth, we have an immediate opening for skilled assembly technicians looking for a unique opportunity to utilize their creative skills. The assembly technician will work on the development and assembly of unique ride systems for the Global Entertainment Industry in our amusement park ride division (Entertainment Systems Engineering). The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of and an interest in the development and assembly of composite structures, frame structure (weldments), wiring systems, hydraulic and pneumatic actuating systems, control interfaces and will also be familiar with quality documentation and the associated use of calibrated tools and equipment. The assembly technician will be responsible for specific elements of the assembly process. The entertainment industry has a very specific focus on quality including the documentation of certified materials and assembly processes. The assembly technician will help ensure conformance to customer standards and procedures. This is a rapidly growing group! A self-starter who loves to be hands-on will make the most of this opportunity. This position is located at our Livonia, MI facility.
Qualifications:
High school graduate or GED. Associate's degree desirable.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a product development related assembly environment.
Verbal and written communication skills and ability to use e-mail and Word and Excel.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
Ability to read engineering drawings and understand assembly drawings.
Knowledge of mechanical mechanisms.
Knowledge of welded joints.
Knowledge of bolted joints and the associated threaded fasteners.
Knowledge of composite structures.
Ability to apply technical skills and knowledge to problem recognition and resolution.
Awareness of basic control systems and the importance of their operation.
Must be a self-starter, detailed oriented, and have the ability to work independently to meet tight deadlines.
Ability to handle several assignments simultaneously.
10% Travel to client sites may be required (domestic and international).
